Home improvement, new construction, remodeling, energy savings, green construction, commercial construction, luxury high-rise condos, and desert pipelines. Tim has done all this and more in his career in construction.
Tim began his interest in construction at a very young age. His father and three uncles all owned and worked for construction companies and Tim was often on this or that job site, growing up. In fact, the family business of construction goes back three generations. It’s in his blood.
Wanting to do more than swing a hammer, but remain in the construction field, Tim attended the University of Florida, M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction — the country’s first and often cited as the best school for construction management.
Following graduation from the building construction program, Tim went on to a very successful career in construction management, as well as follow his own passion for home improvement and remodeling.
Starting out as a project engineer and quickly working his way up to project manager, Tim has built theme parks, high schools, distribution centers, high-rise, luxury, ocean-side condominiums, desert pipelines, freezers, bakeries, custom homes, and more. He’s been a consultant for a number of projects, licensed as a Class A general contractor in the state of Florida, a licensed real estate salesperson, and a home inspector in the state of Florida.
Tim worked for companies that range in size from a one-home-at-a-time custom home builder to a billion dollar company with multiple offices throughout the nation and world, with everything in-between. He carries his love for construction and home improvement to his home and family, remodeling his own home and continually working on home improvement projects for friends and family.
Basic home improvement skills can make a tremendous difference to the average home owner in the quality of life in their “castle.” Tim hopes to bring that joy to all that visit TheRealTimJones.com with simple, straight-forward, and detailed instructions on various home improvement projects and remodeling. “The Straight Dope on DIY” as we say.
