Super Tweeter Challenge

By Tim_Jones On November 3, 2009 Under Online Business

Welcome to The Real Tim Jones. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or for more frequent, informal updates, you can follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!

Well, I did not win the SupaTweeta Challenge IIJeremy Shoemaker of Shoemoney.com won.  I guess he has a little more pull than I do, but he just barely edged me out. :)

The good news is that SponsoredTweets is doing another contest!  This time it will be opened up to international residents (previous two were open to US residents, only) and the prize will be cash, money! I love cash.  It spends just like real money!

When you win, the money will be transferred to your Sponsored Tweets account (so, obviously, you have to sign up for Sponsored Tweets).  Here are the rest of the rules:

  • Use your referral link inside Sponsored Tweets to sign up new Tweeters to the system. You can use the standard tweet, display ads or get creative and make something new.
  • The challenge starts today at 12:00pm EST and ends November 16th at 12:00pm EST.
  • The person with the most valid new referrals during the challenge period will be bonused with the opportunity to be hired for a $1000 sponsored tweet.

    • Your referral Tweeter accounts must be over 120 days old by contest end (you can’t just setup a bunch of Twitter accounts and refer yourself).
    • Referrals prior to today do not count for the challenge. Everybody starts fresh!

This is great!  This means all those referrals I piled up in the last contest count for nothing. :(

Now, I have to start all over, but so do all the other big shots, like Shoemoney!  This puts everyone on an even playing field, so get started!

    Hi Tim,
Nice to hear about this contest. I was actually there on twitter(inactive) for 1 year and was confused about the utility of Twitter. Now, it seems, my year old account needs some attention. By the way, can you confirm if we will get complete $1000 on winning or lesser(sponsoredtweets will eat up the commission and will give us less than $1000).
Also, as i am curious to know, how many did u refer in the last competition held ? I mean, how much does it really take to win this comp....you can tell some estimate as you're an experienced pro-blogger.

    Thanks
  • Hello Lisa -- thanks for stopping by and joining in the conversation.

I'm not sure I understand your first question, but Sponsored Tweets will deposit $1,000 into your Sponsored Tweets account, when you win. You can immediately withdraw this $1,000 into your PayPal account.

I can tell you I was far from winning the last competition and it wasn't released how many Shoemoney had to win the second challenge. I know Zac Johnson had around 400 to win the first one.

The second one was very short, so you probably didn't have big numbers, but this one is pretty long, so you'll probably see some big numbers to win.
