Sponsored Post - Grant a Wish with a $100 Sears Gift Card
Welcome back!
<em>This post was Sponsored by IZEA, but the words, thoughts and opinions are mine and only mine.
Today, my daughter turns 3 years old. This not only seems like an impossibility, it truly is impossible. Due to myriad reasons that I will not get into here, my wife and I were told that after our son was born almost 5 years ago, that we could not have any more children, naturally. It was absolutely impossible, according to the doctors and specialists, without some serious medical or adoptive assistance.
Even so, three years and eight months ago, my wife and I stood over a stick with a blue line, in shock and amazement. A true miracle in the making. Then, during the ultrasound, there appeared a little blip on the screen, right where her heart was developing. “Was this serious,” we asked. “We’re not sure, it could be,” we were told. Through an additional miracle, our little baby came through this challenge without any difficulty and on this day, three years ago, she was born, healthy and happy! We have been continually blessed by her and today, Sears provided additional blessings for her by sponsoring this post and providing a $100 gift card, so I could grant-a-wish for my daughter on her birthday! With a new contest, sponsored by IZEA, you could win your own Sears $100 gift card to grant someone’s holiday wish! More details on that in a little bit.
So, yesterday, we headed off to Sears, with my baby girl in tow to help find all she wished for on her birthday! My wife’s family has a tradition of getting a bangle for each girl on each of their birthdays, so we started off in the jewelry section to look at bangles. We found some for her to play with and looked for some as a more permanent gift, as the family tradition is to give eighteen bangles to her on her eighteenth birthday; one from each year.
Of course, a girl can never have enough shoes, so off to the shoes we went. I found some really cool pink Chuck All-Stars, but alas, she preferred others. She found some Disney boots that she just had to have, some Dora the Explorer tennis shoes (just like the ones she has at home), and we finally settled on some very stylish Skechers that looked great!
We had a great time just wandering around the store’s two levels finding all kinds of fun stuff for everyone!
We were amazed at how much stuff Sears has on hand! Hunter, my daughter, found a really cool popcorn maker that she just had to have, but Mom and Dad instructed her, otherwise, without much fuss.
We made our way to the electronics section, where Daddy found a lot of toys for himself, but we were here for granting kid’s wishes! Hunter found a Disney camera and case to go along with it, but she’s not quite old enough for a real, digital camera, yet. At least, that’s what
Mommy and Daddy want to believe.
We did find a special little treat in this area, though, that we grabbed without her knowledge, as a surprise gift. Since she was with us the whole time, picking out her wishes, we had to grab at least one thing to surprise her with, today. So, we grabbed the new Disney Tinkerbell movie, since she loves Tink.
With Christmas quickly approaching, we decided that we needed to grant a few Christmas wishes for Hunter’s brother, Kelly. He was in school, so we could get away with granting his wishes, via Santa Claus, without his knowledge!
Off to the toys we went, after a quick detour through clothing for Dad, kitchen stuff, As Seen On TV products, Florida Gator apparel, and kids clothes. Seriously, how do they get all this stuff in here! The trip took a lot longer than we expected, because we kept stopping to look at all the cool stuff! After a while, I was ready for a nap. They even had a place for that!
While we were exploring the store and doing a little goofing off, we found the first wish we could grant for our son, Kelly. Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots! Woo Hoo!
We finally made it down to the toys area and found lots of great wishes to grant, including a Star Wars (FTW!) Light Saber, Transformers, planes, trains, automobiles, and tools.
After we picked up a Transformer toy and some toy tools to add to Kelly’s Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em robots, we stopped by the Craftsman tools. How can you go to Sears and NOT check out the tools? Seriously. I found some great tools to use on my motorcycle, some I needed to add to my collection, and even some Craftsman BBQ tools that were way cool! If you look closely, you can see that the slots in the BBQ tools are shaped like wrenches! Once again, however, I held off, in favor of granting my kid’s wishes, as this was way more fun, anyway.
After all our fun, we headed off to the checkout to pay for all our loot with our Sears Grant-A-Wish Gift Card!
